Maths

In maths we have been learning about addition.
We have been adding 1 and 2, to numbers up to 12.
To help us, we have been using bead strings. 

We also thought about passengers on a bus...

If there are 7 passengers sitting on a bus, and two more get on, how many are on the bus now? 

How can we write this as a mathematical sentence? 

7+2=9            Easy!

Last week we used our phonics to write some beautiful thank you cards to the firefighters of Istra fire station. 

We worked very creatively to design cards that we thought the firefighters would like. 

Fire station visit!

On Friday 14th October we paid a visit to our local fire station, which helped us understand the job of the fire brigade. 

We saw the firefighter's uniform, the room where they sleep, four different fire engines and a demonstration of a fire hose being used. 

We even got to try on a firefighter's helmet and go inside the fire engines!
